A Hollywood Laser Peel can also be used to combat acne. Acne can follow you far beyond your teenage years, and our Hollywood Peels can help you with your battle against acne. We actually use two different lasers, Toning and Q-switch. The Tong laser encourages skin regeneration, while the Q-switch laser reveals a new, healthy layer of skin as it unclogs pores.
The treatment is a 3-step process. Before the treatment, we apply a carbon lotion on your face and let it sit for about 10 minutes. The lotion gets absorbed into the skin and then we begin the first step of the laser process. During the first stage, the laser is used to gently heat the skin and stimulate collagen. Collagen production is pivotal for anti-aging and better skin tone. The second stage uses the Q-switch laser, which removes the carbon lotion from the skin. As the carbon lotion is being removed, all of those dead skin cells are also removed and unsightly pores are shrinking at the same time. For the third step, we switch back to the Spectra laser to remove any leftover dead skin cells, oil, and carbon lotion. Though this sounds like a long process, a Hollywood Peel session typically takes only 30-35 minutes. So, you can come in on your lunch break and leave looking rejuvenated.
Immediately after the first treatment, you can see the results. Your skin will look refreshed and rejuvenated, and you can go right out and show off your new and improved look. Results from the Spectra procedure can last for a few months, but for optimal results, we recommend 5-6 sessions and then yearly maintenance.
How it works
Laser energy lightly targets a specialized carbon or graphite-based lotion that is placed on the skin, heating the dermis with every laser pulse emitted. The heat is so instantaneous that no skin damage is observed during the treatment but delivers the right amount of energy to disrupt sebaceous secretion minimizing oil flow, stimulating increased collagen quality, and degrading acne bacteria growth.
The laser is then passed over the skin in a different mode to lightly ablate (peel) the top layer of dead skin. The process can also potentially break up the superficial pigment to provide even skin tone, revitalise skin function to maintain a healthy appearance and smoothen skin texture to provide a youthful glow.
Acne Laser Peel
The Hollywood acne laser peel can be used to reduce inflammation and oil production associated with acne. In a 3-step process, first, a lotion is applied to the skin that allows enhancement of the laser. Second, the laser treats the skin, lightly heating the skin cells and stimulating them as well as the hair follicles where acne starts. Lastly, laser treatment is used to create a peel or exfoliation. The lotion is removed during this process, removing with it skin surface cells and unclogging pores. Improvement is often seen after the first treatment, although a series of treatments is recommended for more significant results. Treatments are typically repeated every 2-3 weeks. Once the acne is improved, maintenance treatments may be desired every few months. The carbon peel is virtually painless with no downtime.
Hollywood Peel: Pore size reduction and new collagen formation
Hollywood Peel can be used to treat a multitude of problems. During the simple and straightforward procedure, the Skin therapist applies a carbon-based lotion to the face. After application, the laser is used to carbon peel off the lotion, beginning a process of skin cell stimulation and exfoliation. A series of treatments (typically 6-8 sessions) are recommended to enhance results from the laser Peel. The Carbon Peel results in reduced pore size, smoother skin texture, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, and reduced oil production
